The new Free season ticket for Renfe users and high-speed multi-trip titles with a 50% offapproved within the framework of the anti-crisis decree to combat the consequences of the war in Ukraine and high energy prices, can be purchased from today, Wednesday, August 24.

Returning travelers from Cercanías, Rodalies and Conventional Middle Distance who acquire the new free season ticket will be able to travel on these trains from the September 1 and until the end of the year. In the case of the new high-speed passes and Avant passes, the period of use is one more month, until January 31, 2023, and they can also be purchased between August 24 and December 31, 2022.

To purchase the subscription, it will be necessary to deposit a bail. In the case of Surroundings and Rodalies, the deposit to be paid when purchasing the season ticket will be 10 eurospreferably by means of a bank card, so that the refund is automatically returned to that card, as long as the user has made a minimum of 16 trips.

In case of not complying with the stipulated minimum number of trips, the bail it will be considered compensation and will not be returned to the user. In the event that the deposit is deposited in cash, the return of the deposit must be requested at the ticket offices, customer service offices or at any other after-sales service authorized for this purpose by Renfe.

To issue the subscription, the user’s ID and/or mobile phone will be recorded. A large family discount may be applied to the amount of the deposit if this condition is met.

During the marketing period of the new recurring subscription, the sale of the rest of the usual subscriptions will be suspended, although those that have been purchased previously will maintain the validity with which they were purchased and may be used.

In the case of Conventional Middle Distancethe deposit will be, in general terms, 20 euros and if a minimum of 16 trips are made, the deposit will be returned.

Users will be able to obtain their free pass at self-service machines and station ticket offices and formalize their trip at self-service machines, ticket offices, the Renfe website and app.
