The Russia-Ukraine conflict broke all forecasts. At first it was expected that Vladimir Putin’s troops would return home victorious in a short time, but that did not happen and for now, two months of war have gone by and numerous casualties and destruction have occurred for both the Russians and the Ukrainians.
In fact, Russia on several occasions abandoned the offensive in kyiv due to the impossibility of advancing and focused on other regions such as Donbas and Mariupol. The latter has already invaded it and celebrated its victory by blocking all possible escapes from the Azovstal underground steel complex, where the last resistance fighters of this strategic port city in southeastern Ukraine have barricaded themselves.
The Ukrainian preparation and international support took Putin’s troops by surprise, who during the invasion have committed error after error, in addition to war crimes such as the rape of girls, young women, and adults in massacred cities.

Seven mistakes that are costing Russia the war
The Sport media publishes the consultation made by Peru21 to sources from the United States Ministry of Defense, about the mistakes that Russia is making in the war and they indicated seven mistakes:
1. Miscalculation of international response
The Western response is much stronger than most people expected, including the Russians and Vladimir Putin himself. For example, Germany, which reiterated its support for Ukraine and sent Gepard-type tanks to the country.
2. Lack of internal cohesion
Not all of the Russian political and military leadership agreed with the invasion, in fact, some of the information leaked to Ukraine came directly from Russian sources.

3. Russian intelligence mistakes
Russia began the “military operation” with intelligence information indicating that, at the start of the war, the Ukrainian army would stage a coup, open the gates of kyiv to Putin, and Volodimir Zelensky and his government would flee. They were, evidently, a deception that contributed to the invasion being launched without much preparation.
4. Inadequate military doctrine
By not having a clear strategy, it is like going into a war improvising, while the defender has more advantage, because he is prepared to defend. Such was the case of the first convoy to advance towards kyiv, which, without securing its rear or flanks, Ukraine blew up bridges behind it so that it could neither go back nor advance, trapping it and then destroying it with light weapons and drones.
5. Bad logistics chain
Ukraine destroyed Russia’s ground transports of supplies, so they were forced to airlift them, which wasn’t a great idea. Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense and supplied drones inflicted serious casualties on the Russian fleet.

6. Little “secret” communications
Computer forces of the Ukrainian president’s army, in collaboration with the West, disabled part of the encrypted Russian communication systems, so that senior officers had to go to the front lines of battle or move close to the troops to be able to use their own phones and order operations.
In this way, and once located by the Ukrainians, direct attacks were made against them. For this reason, there is the high number of casualties of the Russian high command.
7. War crimes
Russia became the most rejected country in the world as a result of war crimes against Ukrainian civilians, who are vilely executed and women raped, and some also killed. Vladimir Putin’s reaction was to decorate those accused of these crimes. (I)
