After the presidential elections held this Sunday in France, the parties are already preparing for the legislative elections in June. The France Insumisa and the Socialist Party they have reached a programmatic agreement. In any case, they will continue negotiating since it remains to be seen how they will compete in the elections. The Socialist Party has informed through a note, that accepts the programmatic points that the Untamed France had raised to reach a consensus. These points include the increase in minimum wage to 1,400 euros per month, reduce the minimum retirement age from the current 62 years to 60, promote the Sixth Republic and even fail to comply with certain European regulations.

Despite agreeing on the program, the two parties they will continue talking to close details and negotiate, among other issues, whether they will run in the elections in coalition or not.

Everything seems to indicate that the union of the left is now closer after it was impossible in the presidential elections. Ecologists and communists could also be added.

Environmentalists move closer to agreement

The French environmentalists have given signs this Friday that they are approaching an electoral agreement for the June legislative elections with the France Insumisa (LFI), Jean-Luc Mélenchon, a dominant figure on the left thanks to his result in the presidential elections.

“The agreement is in sight,” said the national secretary of the Greens, Julien Bayou, who in an interview with France 2 channel said he hopes that the negotiations can conclude with a compromise “in the next few hours.”
