Completely in the dark and among rubble is the Azovstal steelworks field hospital in Mariupol, in southern Ukraine, after the latest attack by the Russian Army. Thousands of Ukrainian civilians and soldiers from the Azov battalion take refuge in the basement of this steelworks, of whom more than 400 are injured.
In the images, which can be seen in the video above, shared by the Azov regiment itself, the buried operating room already some wounded they are having to be attended to by the light of flashlights.
Tonight, the Russian Army has launched over 50 air strikes on the besieged city of Mariupol and among the explosives there were “a large number of phosphorous bombs”, according to the Ukrainian army.
The Azovstal steel company is, so far, the only area of Mariupol not yet taken over by the Russians. The Deputy Commander of the Regiment, Captain Sviatoslav Palamar, called on his Telegram account for the authorities to take decisive action to lift the blockade of the city or evacuate residents and defenders.
“Last night there was an enormous number of phosphorus bombs: 50 air strikes, missiles, artillery and everything that a barbarian can use against humanity,” the military man said in statements reproduced by the local daily Pravda.
