Paraguay announced this Tuesday that the vaccination certificate will not be a mandatory requirement for travelers entering the country, since they will be able to present a negative covid-19 test taken within 48 hours prior to the trip.
This was confirmed by the general director of Migrations Paraguay, Ángeles Arriola, who told Radio Monumental 1080 AM that this condition was “flexible”.
According to the head of Migrations, proof of vaccination “is within the requirements”, but it is no longer mandatory.
“Those people who definitely do not have the vaccine or who have an incomplete dose, bringing a PCR (practiced) within 48 hours before, could enter the country,” he said.

He pointed out that this requirement was previously “exclusive, not today” and explained that the decision addresses “what is happening worldwide.”
The Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare today published an update on the health requirements for entering the country, according to which travelers over 12 years of age without proof of vaccination must present a negative covid test.
The document was released a day after the Executive repealed the declaration of health emergency due to the pandemic in force since March 2020, which put an end to the mandatory use of face masks.
The new measures are known at a time when the numbers of infections and deaths from covid-19 remain low in the country.
The Ministry of Health reported this Monday that the country recorded 5 deaths and 236 infections between April 3 and 9, a period that corresponded to epidemiological week 14.
The report put the accumulated number of infections in the country at 648,682 and the number of deaths so far due to the pandemic at 18,786. (I)
