The China Eastern plane that was traveling between the Chinese cities of Kunming and Canton has crashed in the Guangxi region.

A China Eastern airlines plane with 133 people on board has crashed on Monday in the Guangxi region, according to state television CCTV.

The aircraft, almost seven years old, was traveling between the Chinese cities of Kunming (southwest) and Canton. The distance is 1357 kilometers.

The Boeing 737-800 had taken off at 1:15 p.m. local time (06:15 a.m. in Euskal Herria), and had an expected duration of one hour and forty minutes.

According to data from the FlightRadar24 flight tracking portal, the aircraft was flying at 2:19 p.m. local time (07:19 a.m. in the Basque Country) at an altitude of 29,100 feet (8,870 meters) when, some 55 kilometers west of the town of Wuzhou, began to decline.

At the moment the causes of the incident are unknown, according to this medium, which has added that rescue teams are working in the area, without providing data on possible victims.
