The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyannounced yesterday Saturday the suspension of the activity of ten opposition parties while martial law lasts, accusing them of having links with Russia.
“The National Security and Defense Council has decided, given the large-scale war and the links of some political structures with this state (Russia), to suspend any activity of a number of political parties during the period of martial law,” he said. Zelenski explained in a video broadcast at dawn on the official channels of the Ukrainian Government.
Specifically, the parties whose activity has been suspended are ‘Opposition Platform – For Life‘, ‘Sharia Party‘, ‘Our‘, ‘Left Opposition’‘Union of Left Forces‘, ‘Condition‘, ‘Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine‘, ‘Socialist Party of Ukraine‘, ‘Socialists‘ and ‘Vladimir Block Balance‘.
Zelensky, who belongs to the party ‘People’s Servant‘, has indicated that the Ministry of Justice has already received instructions to immediately take comprehensive measures to ban the activities of these 11 political parties.
“I want to remind all politicians in any field: the war shows very well the scarcity of personal ambitions of those who try to put their own ambitions, their own party or career above the interests of the state, the interests of the people,” he said. pointed out the Ukrainian president.
