Brutal hate crime in New York
Tammel Esco, 42, was arrested and charged with calling a 67-year-old woman an “Asian bitch,” following her into a building and severely beating her in Yonkers, north of the Big Apple, according to NBC.
The culprit of such cruelty was arrested shortly after when the agents saw him still outside the building. Yonkers police announced the arrest and released security video of the building’s lobby area to prove the subject’s hateful act.
The footage shows the woman trying to open the second lobby door when she was hit in the head from behind and fell to the ground. She subsequently hit her 125 times, stomped on her seven times and spat on her.
The police pronounce themselves and describe the act as despicable
“Hitting a defenseless woman is despicable and targeting her because of her race makes it even more despicable,” Yonkers Police Commissioner John J. Mueller said in a statement.
The woman, who was not publicly identified, is in stable condition and recovering at a hospital, police said. She suffered facial bone fractures and bleeding in the brain.
Tammel Esco, 42, was charged Monday after the attack occurred this past Friday evening, according to the Yonkers Police Department. The incident was caught on camera, with the footage showing the unnamed woman getting hit more than 125 times. ????”What is happening!!” pic.twitter.com/HfBT1jQvXX
