Sánchez maintains that there cannot be “27 different ways” to face the energy crisis

In addition, he has indicated that the decisions must be “urgent” and cannot be expected beyond March 25, when the European Council will be held in Brussels.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has indicated from Rome that Europe must give a common response to the increase in energy and gas prices because it is a European problem that cannot be responded to “in 27 different ways”.

In addition, he has indicated that the decisions must be “urgent” and cannot be expected beyond March 25, when the European Council will be held in Brussels.

In an appearance together with the Italian prime minister, Mario Draghi, the Portuguese prime minister, Antonio Costa, and his Greek counterpart, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, he pointed out that all European countries are being affected “in the same way” by the crisis generated by the invasion of Ukraine ordered by the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and therefore the answer must be common.

Thus, Sánchez has insisted on conveying the message that the European partners, in addition to acting together, must do it right away. “We’re late, we should have done it earlier,” she said.

Thus, he stressed that it is the European Commission that has to put joint measures on the table and stressed that the countries present at the meeting maintain a common position. In addition, he has insisted that the measures cannot be delayed because Europe is currently reinforcing Putin, who is the one against whom it is fighting.
