The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has assured in an interview with the American network NBC that Russia has already crossed “all red lines” by bombing civilians and has warned that World War III could have started.
“If they’re throwing intentionally those missiles against kindergartens, against schools or universities that is a crossing of every line,” Zelensky stressed. “What else should we expect? Let the Russians kill 200, 300 or 400 children?” he added.
In this sense, he has pointed out that a large-scale war could have begun in a move by Russia that “puts all civilization at stake”: “No one knows if (World War III) has already started. No one would be able to predict when the full-scale war would start,” he said.
Zelensky has also stressed that the Ukrainian people “is invincible.” “Russian forces can occupy the land, but they cannot take Ukraine’s dignity and love for their country,” the president said. “Even those settlements that were burned to the ground by russian artilleryeven those settlements were left unconquered by the Russians,” he added.
From the United States, the president Biden has called Vladimir Putin a “war criminal” for the first timeprompting the Kremlin to respond, calling the statements “unacceptable and inexcusable.”
