The Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that the American journalist Brent Renaud had been killed. Also, two other informants would have been wounded in a shooting west of Kiev.
Russian forces have killed the American journalist Brent Renaud and two other journalists have been injured in a shooting in Irpin, a town located west of Kiev, as reported by the police of the Ukrainian capital on its Facebook page. The event has also been confirmed on social networks by the country’s Parliament.

The cameraman and videographer carried an accreditation that identified him as a journalist for the newspaper ‘The New York Times’for which he worked until 2015, for which the media has denied through a Twitter post that Renaud currently works for them, as the Ukrainian authorities had initially claimed.

The head of the Police of the Kiev region, Andrri Nebitov, has stated through a Facebook post that “the invaders even kill journalists from international media who are trying to show the truth of the atrocities of Russian troops in Ukraine” .
The post features a photo of Renaud’s ID and another of his passport confirming that he is a US citizen.
