Ukraine has warned that Russia could use biological weapons in its invasion of the country.
This has been indicated by the Ukrainian president, Volodímir Zelenski, in an appearance. He has done so after Putin accused him of developing and stockpiling weapons of this type.
“If you want to know the plans of Russia, look at the accusations that Russia makes to others. And now what? They have decided to carry out the unraveling of Ukraine? Are they going to use ammonia, phosphorus? What else have they prepared for us?“He asked himself about it.
The Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, does not rule out that Putin can use chemical weapons in Ukraine. “Everything is possible in the irrationality that Vladimir Putin is demonstrating. There is no evidence that chemical weapons are being used, but we analyze all the intelligence reports from Western services very carefully,” he pointed out.
This Wednesday, in El Objective, Pedro Rodríguez, professor of International Relations, warned that “we have to consider the possibility of an escalation towards unconventional weapons”.
The expert pointed out that, although “people have the idea of a doomsday attack in their heads”, “the problem is that in the Russian nuclear arsenal there are a huge number of small so-called tactical nuclear charges” that “are very tempting to use”. “They are a great weapon of terror, the damage is limited and therefore a possibility in that sense should not be ruled out,” he warned, pointing out that “Another possibility for unconventional weapons would be chemical or biological weapons.”
