Biden orders to allocate “all resources” to investigate the new cyberattack: suspicions of Russia

The president of United States, Joe Biden, has ordered to allocate “all the resources of the federal government” to investigate the new cibertaque that North American companies have suffered. Kaseya, una software company which provides services to more than 40,000 organizations worldwide, confirmed this Saturday that its systems management platform, called VSA, suffered a “sophisticated” cyber attack, but estimated that it affected a “very small number” of users.

The firm reiterated the call to its clients to immediately shut down their servers “until further notice” and indicated that they will do the same with their service servers.

In a later note, Kaseya noted that they are already working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on what happened.

In a statement that appeared on the Reddit website, the cybersecurity company Huntress Labs indicated that “More than 1,000 businesses” they had been affected by the attack.

US media indicated that a supermarket chain in Sweden announced to its customers that its stores were temporarily closed after one of its technology suppliers suffered an attack that affected the operation of its cash registers. A railroad and a chain of pharmacies in that country were also affected, according to press reports.
