The 64-kilometer long Russian military convoy approaching Kiev has dispersed through several towns to the northwest of the capital, as shown by satellite images.
The photographs, taken this Thursday by the American company Maxar Technologies, show armored vehicles around Antonov airport from the capital and some armored vehicles with artillery equipment repositioned near Lubyanka, a town in the area.
The airport has been one of the objectives of the Russian offensive from the first day of the invasionwhen Russian soldiers tried to take control of the facilities.
What’s more, some of the vehicles have moved into the woodsreports Maxar, with towed howitzers nearby in position to open fire.
The convoy had concentrated outside the city early last week, but its progress appeared to have stalled amid reports of food and fuel shortages. US officials said Ukrainian troops also attacked the convoy with anti-tank missiles.
