Russia stated this Thursday that the bombing that left at least three dead in a pediatric hospital in the Ukrainian port of Mariúpol it was a “provocation staged” by Ukraine.
“Russian aircraft did not carry out any missions against targets in the Mariupol area at all,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
“The alleged aerial bombardment is a complete provocation staged to keep up the anti-Russian stir among a Western audience,” he added.
The bombing on Wednesday of the Mariupol hospital, which sparked global outrage, left three dead, including a child, according to the mayor of that strategic port on the Sea of Azov. A previous balance gave part of 17 injured adults.
Mariupol has been besieged for ten days by Russian troops who invaded the country on February 24 by order of President Vladimir Putin. (I)
