Emergency Committee: how to donate and help the victims of the war in Ukraine

The Emergency Committee is set up, made up of six NGOs that join forces to raise funds to help the millions of people affected by the escalation of violence in Ukraine. The activation of the Emergency Committee has the collaboration of Atresmedia.

Faced with the serious humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian attack, the six NGOs that are part of the Emergency Committee, SOS Children’s Villages, Educo, Doctors of the World, Oxfam Intermón, Plan International and World Vision, have made an appeal to all the parties involved to promote peace and avoid further victims in the armed conflict.

At this time, they have already begun to monitor the consequences and have put in place work plans to provide support and save lives as this grave humanitarian crisis unfolds.

The Emergency Committee has with the objective of jointly channeling the help of all those people willing to contribute to alleviate the situation of those affected by the violence in Ukraine, as well as people who have been forced to seek refuge in neighboring countries such as Poland, Romania, Moldova or Georgia.

The first emergency responses focus on providing shelter, essential humanitarian aid such as food or waterhealthcare, psychological care and child protection, among other lines of action.

How to collaborate with the Emergency Committee

The Emergency Committee has enabled different channels to channel aid and to be able to provide a faster and more effective response to meet the current needs and those affected by the crisis in Ukraine. In this way, NGOs will be able to raise funds more effectively and help as many families as possible to flee to neighboring countries.

What is the Emergency Committee

At the end of 2015, the Spanish Emergency Committee was created in Spain and currently 6 international NGOs such as Aldeas Infantiles SOS, Educo, Médicos del Mundo, Oxfam Intermón, Plan International and World Vision form part of it. The Committee was born to offer a rapid response mechanism in emergency situations that allows increasing citizen support in different humanitarian crises; act as a permanent link between NGOs, companies, the media and citizens; increase social trust in NGOs in emergency situations, being accountable for the impact of their actions, and act jointly as a benchmark for emergency aid in society.
