Russian airstrikes have hit various infrastructures, including three schools and the Cathedral of Ukraine’s second largest city, Kharkiv, on the seventh day since Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the attack on the country.
As confirmed by CNN, at least three schools in Kharkov have been hit by Russian air strikes. One of the schools is in the northern neighborhood of Saltivka and the other two are just over a kilometer away, in the industrial district of the southeast of the city, as reported by the same medium.
In this sense, the newspaper ‘Kiev Independent’ has indicated that in the city of Kharkov the military attacks have affected at least three schools and the Cathedral of the Assumption. The mayor of the city of Kherson, Igor Kolijaiev, has confirmed that he has held talks with Russian troops at City Hallalthough he has denied that they are negotiations and has not recognized that the city is under Russian control.
“I made no promises to them. I cannot promise that I am only interested in the normal viability of our city. I simply asked not to shoot people. We have no Ukrainian armed forces in the city, only civilians and people who want to live here,” he said on his official Facebook profile.
Thus, he has detailed the conditions by the Russian authorities to “eliminate the consequences of the invasion”. In this sense, citizens will only be able to travel during the day by car to make essential purchases, such as food or medicine, and that a “strict” curfew will be extended between eight in the afternoon (local time) and six in the morning.
