Journalists suffered attacks while covering the Daule canton.
During the morning it became viral that a journalist and a cameraman had been attacked by members of the Police while covering the protests on Tuesday, in their case in Daule.
In the afternoon, the institution released a statement in which it said that they had not attacked the journalistic team and argued that it was a confusion while they tried to arrest a citizen for obstructing police work.
“During the arrest, as can be seen in video 2, the citizen in the process of arrest, holds the journalist by the arm to avoid being transferred by the police … We regret the confusion of the facts by the journalist, to who, it is understandable that the situation did not allow her to identify that it was not a police officer who was holding her by the arm, but the one apprehended, ”the National Police said in a statement.

According to the Network of Free Journalists, the attacked journalistic team included Pamela Morante and Starly Merchán, from the channel Dvnet, when they reported live in the T sector of Daule.
The group also indicated that the sector of El Limonal, Daule, another journalist team of this newspaper was threatened by a group of protesters in a coverage of the demonstrations.
