The EU will finance the shipment of weapons to Ukraine and accelerate its integration into the European electricity grid

In an unprecedented measure to support the Ukrainian Army in the face of the Russian offensive, the European bloc will subsidize with community funds the shipment of lethal weapons of the Twenty-seven worth 450 million euros, in addition to 50 million in defensive material.

The European Union officially adopted this Monday the financing of military weapons to Ukraine with retroactive effect from last January 1a measure framed in the third round of European sanctions for the Russian invasion.

In addition, the energy ministers of the EU countries have agreed to speed up integration into the European electricity system Ukraine and Moldovauntil now connected to the Russian network, although with autonomous operation with respect to Moscow.

In an unprecedented measure to support the Ukrainian Army in the face of the Russian offensive, the European bloc will subsidize with community funds the shipment of lethal weapons of the Twenty-seven worth 450 million euros, in addition to 50 million in defensive material.

Until now, this Mechanism that finances community policies on Defense and Security had allocated symbolic amounts to the Armed Forces of countries such as Bosnia, Mali, Mozambique and always to support their work with non-lethal military material.
