Zelensky asks Russian soldiers captured in the war to join Ukrainian troops in exchange for their freedom

Volodymyr Zelensky wants to increase the number of soldiers in the Ukrainian ranks to increase the level of resistance in the country against the Russian invasion. This has been revealed by the president of Ukraine himself, who in a video published this Monday has addressed the Russian soldiers captured by his troops since the beginning of the war to send them a clear message: will release all those prisoners who have military experience and who want to join him to fight Vladimir Putin’s Army.

“When I was running for president, I said that each of us is president. Because we are all responsible for our country. For our beautiful Ukraine. And now it happened that each of us is a warrior. A warrior instead. And I’m sure each of us will win. Glory to Ukraine!”, The Ukrainian leader expressed in said video. Zelensky has not only addressed the captured soldiers, but also those who are advancing today with the aim of invading the country and overthrowing their government.

He has asked them not to trust the Russian government and to end hostilities in Kiev and other parts of the country: “Lay down your weapons, get out of here, do not believe your commandersDo not believe their propagandists. Just save your lives.” It is not the first time that, since the beginning of this armed conflict, Zelensky has tried to increase the number of troops who can stand up to Putin and his troops in one way or another. Days ago, he called his population directly to arms.

“We will give weapons to anyone who wants to defend the country. Get ready to support Ukraine in the squares of our cities,” he warned just two days ago, assuring that has “a mighty army” and already emphasizing that the inhabitants of Ukraine “are equally a powerful army.” In this sense, he settled: “The defense of the Army and national solidarity are the most important for the defense of the State. The future of our people depends on each citizen.”

Not only that, the government of the Ukrainian leader has spread these days information on how to prepare Molotov cocktails to prevent the advance of Russian tanks, military vehicles and soldiers, and has even urged its population to carry out maneuvers of all kinds that can help confuse their enemies and generate casualties; for example, creating barricades, destroying roads or removing signs with instructions to disorient said troops.
