Peruvian repatriation flight authorized in Ukraine How many FAP planes will be used?

The Ministry of Defense (Mindef) authorized the trip to the personnel of the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) that will make up the crew of the aircraft in charge of carrying out the repatriation of Peruvian citizens from Ukraine to Peru, from the city of Warsaw, Republic of Poland before the massive military offensive by the Russian Federation.

It is worth remembering that until Friday, both the Ministry of Defence as the Chancellery reported that the aircraft, which will be used to repatriate nationals in a situation of danger in Ukraineis awaiting the authorizations to start the deployment to Poland.

However, according to Ministerial Resolution 0112-2022-DEpublished this Saturday in the newspaper El Peruano and signed by the Minister of Defense, José Gavidia, has the travel permit abroad for a service commission, to the FAP staff.

How many planes will be used for repatriation?

The rule details that authorization was given this Saturday, February 26, for the formation of the crew of the 4 FAP aircraft responsible for carrying out the repatriation of citizens Ukrainian Peruvians to Peru, from the city of Warsaw, in Poland.

Repatriation flight per diem

The rule indicates that the participation of the alternate aircraft and crew is subject to the inability of the regular aircraft and crew to participate.

The Peruvian Air Force reported that it makes the corresponding payments charged to the Institutional Budget for Fiscal Year 2022, according to the following concepts:

Travel expenses:

• US$ 540.00 x 1 day x 15 people US$ 8,100.00 Total to pay: US$ 8,100.00

Reports on repatriation

The designated personnel must submit a detailed report to the head of the entity, describing the actions carried out and the results obtained during the authorized trip, within 15 calendar days from the date of return to the country.

Likewise, within the same term, it will carry out the travel support. “This Ministerial Resolution does not give the right to exoneration or release of customs taxes of any kind or denomination”, indicates the legal device.

When will the return of nationals to Peru be?

The legal device that gives permission to repatriate nationals in Ukraine indicates that it authorizes the return of the ships to Peru on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

As is public, the Foreign Ministry reported that the Honorary Consulate in Kiev and the Consular Office of Peru in Warsaw continue with the process of identifying Peruvians who wish to be evacuated.

The general director of Peruvian Communities Abroad and Consular Affairs, María Antonia Masana, reported that at this time around 320 compatriots live in Ukraine.

Of that total, 196 are already registered on a list to be evacuated at any time to the border with Poland. From there, they will coordinate with the nationals who wish to return to Peru.
