Rafael Carpena, a Peruvian who arrived in Kiev (Ukraine) six days ago, is experiencing an odyssey in his attempt to leave the country after the Russian military attacks in the area. Like thousands of Ukrainians, our compatriot is looking for a means of transport that can take him to Polinia, a country that has been sheltering hundreds of people in the midst of the war unleashed by Vladimir Putin.
In a video broadcast on Canal N, Rafael Carpena narrated that he hopes to walk at least 6 km. away to find a metro station to take you to Poland.
“Currently I am walking to another metro station – 6 kilometers from the place where it is – that can take me to Poland, because in that station there are trains leaving from Kiev. We are at minus -1°C of wind chill, there is no one”he indicated.
Carpena specified that the metro he hopes to take would leave him halfway to the Polish border. “The bombings have stopped in the last 40 minutes and that is why I have dared to go out, there are no people in the streets”he added.
It should be noted that the Peruvian’s attempt to leave Ukraine occurs in the middle of the second consecutive day of Russian military attack against various Ukrainian cities.
