Russia: spokesman accuses Ukraine of refusing to negotiate

Russia accused this Friday Ukraine to avoid sitting at the negotiating table after Moscow accepted Kiev’s proposal and suggested Minsk, the Belarusian capital, as the venue for the talks.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov, Ukraine proposed Warsaw as an alternative location for dialogue after which “took a pause” and “broke communication.”

“Sadly, that pause is accompanied by the deployment of multiple launcher systems in residential neighborhoods, including in Kiev,” Peskov said at a press appearance.

He added that the Kremlin sees this situation as “extremely dangerous”.

Russia today expressed its willingness to send a delegation to Minsk to start negotiations with Ukraine after the Ukrainian presidentVolodymyr Zelenskyaccept the possibility of discussing the neutral status of the country, with which Ukraine would give up its aspiration to join the NATO.

Peskov said that Moscow was ready to send to Minsk “a delegation at the level of representatives of the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Administration for negotiations with the Ukrainian side.”

The Kremlin spokesman also reported that Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko was prepared to “create all conditions” for the start of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow, which have had no diplomatic relations since yesterday, in Minsk.

Shortly before Peskov’s appearance, in which he accused Ukraine of dragging out the talks on the possible venue for the future negotiation, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the Ukrainian military to take power and assured that with them “It will be easier to reach an agreement” to end the Russian military operation that began this Thursday.
