The Ukrainian president made this video announcement on his Telegram account in which he also reported on the implementation of martial law throughout the country.

“Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Peaceful Ukrainian cities are under attack. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend and win. The world can and must stop Putin. The time to act is now,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba wrote in a tweet.
According to local media reports, strong explosions are heard on the outskirts of the main Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kiev.
The Russian attacks would target strategic points of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in cities such as Kharkov, the second largest in the country; Kramatorsk, the Ukrainian military center in Donbas; or the port of Berdyansk, on the Sea of Azov.
Official sources say that Ukraine has decided to close the airspace for civil aviation.
The Ukrainian president, Volodímir Zelenski, convened the Defense and National Security Council and will soon impose martial law, according to the secretary of said body, Oleksiy Danílov.
Before the start of the massive Russian attack, Zelensky tried to contact the head of the Kremlin by phone, but he never answered.
