The Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, Juan Carlos Holguín, indicated that he is currently working on the care of Ecuadorians in Ukraine, a country in Eastern Europe that is currently experiencing great military tension with Russia.
“I studied outside of ???????? and I clearly understand the uncertainty of those who are far from home in the midst of someone else’s conflict. For this reason, I know that all the efforts and efforts to serve Ecuadorians in Ukraine ???????? are essential,” Holguín said on Twitter yesterday afternoon.
In Ukraine, according to data from the Foreign Ministry, there are 538 Ecuadorians registered. The majority (238) are in the capital, Kiev, which is in the north center. It is followed by the cities of Zaporizhia (118) and Lviv (52). The rest are located in other areas throughout the Ukrainian territory.

Holguín indicated that the consular services are enabled for them through the Consulate of Ecuador in Austria, with which they can be contacted by phone or virtual to carry out any procedure they deem necessary in the current situation, in addition to the consul, Luis Narváez, is currently in Kiev.
Last Monday, Russia recognized the independence of two pro-Russian separatist regions in eastern Ukraine, the “republics” of Donetsk and Lugansk, and paved the legal way to send troops to this area, although the decision has not been made at the moment.
Western countries estimate that Russia, which has deployed 150,000 troops to the borders with Ukraine, may carry out a full-scale invasion of this neighboring country.
