Two Ukrainian soldiers killed and four wounded in Donbas in pro-Russian attack

At least two Ukrainian soldiers died today from shrapnel wounds and four others were injured in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, as a result of attacks by separatist forcesas reported this Saturday by the press center of the Operation of the Joint Forces of Ukraine.

“As a result of the attacks, two soldiers received shrapnel wounds incompatible with life. Four others were injured of varying severity and are hospitalized,” said the statement, posted on Facebook.

This morning the Ukrainian military had already reported the first casualty as a result of the attacks by the pro-Russian separatists in Donbas.

The Heavy weapons attacks in Donbas continued today for the third day consecutive.

Both sides accuse each other of targeting population centers on both sides of the line of separation of forces and of using weapons prohibited by the Minsk Peace Agreements.

The self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, which declared general mobilization due to increased tensions with Kiev, accuse the Ukrainian military of repeatedly violating the ceasefire, which has left a civilian injured.

Both territories also announced a massive evacuation of their population to Russia.

According to the Observation Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), violations of the ceasefire along the line of contact in Donbas have increased massively.

Only on Friday they registered 800 ceasefire violations, more than triple the average number of cases reported in the previous 30 days. Of those violent acts, 654 were explosions, when the daily average was less than 100 last month. (I)
