In an exclusive interview with the BBC, the Serbian tennis player has rejected being associated with the anti-vaccine movement, but has supported a person’s right to choose.
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has stated this Tuesday that he would rather miss big tournaments than be forced to get vaccinated against covid-19.
In an exclusive interview with the British chain, he has rejected being associated with the anti-vaccine movement and has stated that he supports a person’s right to choose.
When asked if he would sacrifice tournaments like Wimbledon or Roland Garros, the tennis player replied: “Yes, that is the price I am willing to pay.”
Djokovic was unable to participate in the Australian Open, in the first of the four Grand Slams of the season. The Australian government ordered his deportation in January after he canceled his visa due to not being vaccinated against covid-19.
