Buenos Aires dresses in roses to celebrate Valentine’s Day weddings in city parks

A park full of roses or a Japanese-style garden are the places chosen by dozens of couples to celebrate their wedding in Buenos Aires, coinciding with Valentine’s week, which starts this Monday.

The first of the ceremonies was held in El Rosedal, a park located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, which is decorated with thousands of flowers and that has a dream lake.

On Thursday the weddings will start in the Glorieta de Belgrano, an architectural jewel from the early 20th century and point of reference for fans of tangoand on Friday they will conclude in the Japanese Garden, where you can enjoy the beauties of the Japanese country without leaving Buenos Aires.

To participate in this proposal, the Interested couples had to register in the Civil Registry of the City, a body dependent on the Buenos Aires Government Ministry, which is also in charge of setting the ceremonies with floral decorations, white chairs and a red carpet for the newlyweds.

Each couple may invite up to a total of fifty people to their wedding, which will last for an hour to make way for the next duo of lovers.

This initiative is part of “BAmor”, a program born six years ago at the Teatro 25 de Mayo and later repeated at the legendary Teatro Colón in the capital.

During this week, and in line with the increase in outdoor weddings due to the pandemic, the Government of Buenos Aires offers up to 28 emblematic places for porteños, in a program that has allowed the realization of more than 600 weddings since 2016.

The objective of the program, according to the Executive of the capital, is to offer these couples “a celebration with a personal imprint, giving you the possibility of holding a different event by choosing the place where it takes place”, including gardens, museums, libraries, cultural centers, parks, reserves, roundabouts, soccer stadiums and theaters.
