The Taliban announced this Sunday that they had killed three members of the Islamic State (IS) organization, accused of having committed “kidnappings”, after three hours of clashes near their hiding place in the town of Herat, in western Afghanistan.
“Three kidnappers, responsible for serious kidnappings in Herat province, were hiding in a building in the Pul-e-Dozan neighborhood in Herat,” said Interior Ministry spokesman Qari Sayed Khosti.
“The special forces surrounded them and there was an exchange of fire. The men were killed during the shootout with the security forces, ”he added.
