Mexico on alert for Hurricane Rick

Hurricane Rick, which formed in the Pacific Ocean, continues to approach the southern and western coasts of Mexico this Saturday.

Hurricane Rick, which formed in the Pacific Ocean, could become “a great hurricane on Sunday 24”, reported the United States National Hurricane Center (NHC).

At 00:00 GMT this Saturday, the category 1 meteor (out of 5 on the Saffir-Simpson scale) was located 265 km from Zihuatanejo and 305 km from Acapulco, both towns in the state of Guerrero, southern Mexico, and was moving at 8 km / h towards north-northwest, indicated the NHC.

The forecast for Rick’s trajectory is that he will get closer to the coast of Mexico on Sunday, when it could become “a major hurricane,” the agency added in a report on its website.

The meteorological authority of Mexico, CONAGUA, warned that it maintains a surveillance zone for the effects of the hurricane from Técpan de Galeana, Guerrero, to Manzanillo, Colima, west, an area where it could impact between Sunday and Monday.
