UK plans “major military deployment” in Ukraine in the face of “Russian hostility”

Johnson will put on the table “the largest possible offer” to add fighter jets, warships and “military specialists” to NATO operations.

Due to the crisis in Russia and Ukraine about a possible war, United Kingdom offer this week to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) a “great military deployment” in order to “strengthen the borders of Europe” and counteract the “hostility” of Russia, according to the British Government this past Saturday.

While the prime minister Boris Johnson plans to offer the “greatest possible offer” to add fighters, warships and “military specialists” from the British Army to the operations of the Atlantic Alliance, the representatives of the British Executive will travel to Brussels. As reported by their official office, Downing Street, they will detail the “possible shipment” of troops with NATO partners. Meanwhile, the cabinet will analyze the “military options” on Monday.

In the next few days, Johnson plans to talk by phone with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin and also plans a visit to the region, whose details have not been announced at the moment. As he has advanced, if Putin chooses a “path of bloodshed and destruction”, it will be “a tragedy” for Europe, but adds that Ukraine “must be free” to decide its future.

On the other hand, Defense Minister Ben Wallace plans to travel this week to Jungria, Slovenia and Croatia, while Foreign Minister Liz Truss will also increase her diplomatic activity in Europe.

“A Clear Message”

For now, more than 900 UK military personnel are in Estonia, more than a hundred in Ukraine, and a 150-strong squad in Poland.

According to the prime minister’s statement, this offer will serve to send “a clear message” to the Kremlin, “low tolerance for its destabilizing activities.” Likewise, he affirms that “they will always remain” together with their NATO allies to “confront the hostility of Russia.”
