Several people were injured by an armed man who broke into the auditorium of the University of Heidelberg (southern Germany), police sources reported, according to whom the aggressor died.

The events occurred on the premises occupied by the university clinic, the Faculty of Sciences and the botanical garden.
Security forces cordoned off the area after receiving notice of the attack, around 12:30 GMT.
They immediately urged the citizens to move away from the place through the police Twitter account.
The direction of the University, for its part, warned the students not to approach the place.
At the moment no information about the aggressor has been provided.
The entire area surrounding the campus of the university clinic, up to the very gates of Heidelberg’s old town, has been closed to traffic. (I)
