Several people have been injured this Monday in an attack perpetrated by an unidentified armed person on the campus of the German university in Heidelberg, in the south of the country, authorities have confirmed.
The Mannheim Police have indicated through their account on the social network Twitter that the attacker has opened fire on several people in a campus conference room, before adding that the man would have committed suicide later.
He also stressed that there is a “large-scale” operation at the scene and added that the suspect would have acted alone.
The Police have indicated that they will provide more information soon and have asked not to obstruct the surrounding streets to allow the operations of the emergency services.
