The EU will not reduce the staff of its Embassy in Kiev and asks not to dramatize

The United States has ordered a reduction in non-essential staff and family members at the US Embassy in Kiev.

The European Union will not reduce the staff of its Embassy in Ukraine, unlike what the United States decided, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, assured on Monday, who asked not to “dramatize”.

“We will not do the same, because we don’t have any specific reason. I don’t think we have to dramatize while the negotiations continue. I don’t think we have to leave Ukraine,” Borrell said upon arrival at the meeting that the foreign ministers of the EU celebrate today in Brussels.

The heads of European diplomacy will hold a telematic meeting with the United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, in which he will explain his meeting on Friday with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and the reasons why he has ordered the reduction of personnel non-essential and family members from the US Embassy in Kiev.
