The head of the German Navy suggests that Europe give Putin “the respect he asks for and deserves”

Kay-Achim Schönbach he is the head of the German Navy and has made unprecedented statements. “What Russia wants is a small strip of Ukrainian soil? Putin knows that he can pressure and divide the European Union, but what he really wants is respect,” he said.

In a meeting in India, where he may not have known he was being recorded, he suggests that you have to give Putin what he wants, considering that Europe needs Moscow as an ally.

The reality is that between Germany and Russia there’s a pipeline built whose operation is paralyzed. It is one of the weapons that the West is using in this crisis: to prevent its approval while Russia continues to stalk Ukraine.

However, it is a double-edged sword, since Europe depends almost exclusively on the gas that comes from Russia through other channels, with which the Kremlin can also put pressure limiting supply.

For now, Germany puts itself in profile, putting even obstacles to the arrival of weapons in Kiev and causing British planes, which he has prevented from flying over his space, to make a detour.
