What began as a couple’s trip through the western United States ended in a story that shocked an entire country after the death of a young woman.
Gabby Petito’s boyfriend, an influencer whose assassination shocked America Last year, he confessed in writing before committing suicide that he had killed her, the federal police (FBI) reported in a statement on Friday.
Brian Laundrie he killed himself with a shot to the head, after raising suspicions about the death of his partner. His body was found on October 20 in a nature reserve in northern Florida, in the southeastern United States, along with various objects, including a notebook.
A review of the notebook revealed written statements by Mr. Laundrie in which he assumed responsibility for Petito’s death.
The FBI said in the statement
“The investigation has not identified no other individual, aside from Brian Laundrie, implicated in the tragic death of Gabby Petito,” agent Michael Schneider said in the document.
Petito’s family showed convinced of the responsibility of his daughter’s partner after meeting with the FBI.
“The quality and quantity of the facts and information collected by the FBI leaves no doubt about the fact that Brian Laundrie murdered Gabby”, He assured in a document shared by his lawyer.
Laundrie, 23, and Petito, 22, left New York in July to tour the western United States in a van for four months.
For days, they spread images on social networks in which they were seen smiling.

But on September 1, Laundrie returned without her to North Port, Florida, where they both lived with his family.
On September 13, fled after refusing to answer police questions.
