Horror in the Brussels metro. The machinist’s skill has prevented a tragedy from occurring after a man pushed a woman onto the tracks just as the train pulled into the station.
Security camera footage shows the assailant, a young man, pacing back and forth on the platform and then pushing the woman from behind onto the tracks at the Rogier metro station in Brussels. It happened last Friday, January 14 at night, around 7:45 p.m. and when there were many people on the platform.
Luckily, the subway was able to stop in time. Pedestrians quickly helped her off the tracks, the Brussels public transport company STIB, which operates subways in the capital city, later explained.
The attacker ran away immediately after pushing the woman but has since been arrested, confirmed the Brussels prosecutor’s office on Saturday morning.
