Complaints from the Italian Police for receiving pink masks: they consider them unworthy, improper and unseemly

One of the main unions of the Italian Police, the Autonomous Police Union (SAP, for its acronym in Italian), has sent a formal complaint to the authorities because they have been given FFP2 masks that they consider unworthy, improper and unseemly. The reason: they are from pink colour.

The SAP, closely linked to the right and the extreme right and which brings together some 20,000 agents, protests in the letter that these protectors bought with public money have been distributed in police stations in various regions of the country, which are unseemly to wear with the uniform. police.

“The reasons for the purchase of face masks are unknown. a color that should seem at first glance unsuitable to our Administration and the decision to approve this purchase arouses perplexity”, assures the letter, which is collected by the Italian newspaper ‘Il Post’.

In the brief, the SAP argues that “the importance of the functions” of the Police forces the Administration to “preserve dignity” of the agents, something that does not happen when distributing the pink masks. These, they say, do not go with the uniform and “endanger the image of the institution”.

The policemen, violated by the use of the color pink, request “immediate measures” among which is the distribution of masks of a different color but that is “in accordance” with the uniform of the State Police, whether they are white, blue or black.
