López Obrador assures that he is well after testing positive for covid-19

During a press conference, the president was present via telematics.

The Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, He assured this Tuesday that he feels “very good” after testing positive for COVID-19 on Monday, according to what he said in a video released during his usual daily press conference.

“I am hoarse, hoarse (…) this message is to inform how I feel and also to convey my experience now that I have become infected again with the fundamental purpose that we do not get scared,” he said in the video.

The president had a raspy voice, as happened on Monday when he presented with the same symptoms, and without a mask, in front of the press.

In his telematic intervention, López Obrador took his temperature with an infrared thermometer (in the form of a gun) and assured that it only has 36.1 degrees, in addition to 96 in oxygenation in the blood, both levels considered normal.

López Obrador appeared on Monday at his conference with symptoms of a cold, this a week after having been in contact with the Secretary of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier, who tested positive on Friday.

That day the Mexican president refused to take the test, because, as he clarified, he did not present symptoms, despite the fact that the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends otherwise.

Mexico is experiencing a wave of infections after Christmas and with the arrival of the omicron variant, and last Saturday the country registered a new daily record of infections with 30,671 cases of covid-19.
