Javier Milei will raffle his salary as a deputy: how much will the winner receive?

The Argentine economist Javier Milei promised in the electoral campaign to raffle off his salary as a national deputy and the response from his followers has been overwhelming: just after the registration was opened, the website collapsed with the entry of more than a million people.

So far, more than 300,000 people have been registered and in just 24 hours of opening the website suffered mishaps on more than one occasion because 20 thousand people were connected per minute, according to the Argentine media TN.

On Thursday, registrations were opened for a first draw that attracts the attention of many people who hope to win the more than 200,000 pesos (US $ 1,936) that the prize consists of this month, since Milei only took office on December 10. The right-wing economist announced that in the following months he will raffle off his full salary of almost 300,000 pesos (US $ 2,904).

The first draw will be held on Wednesday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Playa Grande, Mar de Plata, where Milei will give an open and free economics class entitled “Social justice is unfair.”

“Fulfilling my word of ‘GIVE UP MY DIET’, I invite you to participate in the monthly draw for it”, he advertises on his Instagram account.

How to register for the Javier Milei raffle?

  • To participate in the raffle you must have Argentine nationality and be over 18 years of age.
  • On the My Word website, the requested data (names, cell phone number, address, etc.) are entered.
  • People from all provinces can participate, without distinction of ideology and / or political affiliation.
  • To each person who signs up, the system will grant a unique and unrepeatable number.
  • Contestants will be sent an email as a confirmation, among the data that will appear in the email will be the number that the system has given them.
  • Registrations will be made until January 12 (day of the draw).
  • The draw will be carried out with Google’s random generator and the winner’s data will be reviewed by a notary public.
