A tiger tears off the hand of a keeper in a safari park in Japan

A tiger tore the hand of a handler and attacked two other people in a safari park near Tokyo, Japanese media reported Wednesday.

The attack of the tiger, a 10-year-old Bengal male that is about two meters long and weighs 150 kilograms, occurred in the morning at the Nasu Safari Park in Tochigi prefecture, the Kyodo agency reported.

Instead, the caretakers encountered him in a hallway leading to an exhibition area and were attacked, according to media.

The caregiver who lost her hand, a woman in her 20s, was airlifted by medical helicopter to the hospital, according to Kyodo, which indicated that another woman was bitten in various places and a man was wounded in the back of the head. They were also taken to the hospital.
