Previously, the social network had briefly suspended Greene’s account, @mtgreenee, for some tweets about COVID that it described as “misleading.” At least two other Republican congressmen have also received temporary suspensions on Twitter: Jim Banks and Barry Moore.
“Twitter is an enemy of the United States and cannot handle the truth,” Greene said in a statement on the messaging app Telegram, adding that social media platforms “cannot prevent the truth from spreading far and wide. The congresswoman’s official account, @ReptMTG, is still active on Twitter and has 390,000 followers, slightly less than the 465,000 of her banned personal account.
