The Serbian opposition launches flares and tear gas in Parliament and leaves a deputy in a critical condition

Flares, firecrackers and even eggs. Chaos has exploded this morning in the Parliament of Serbia after the attacks of opposition to the government. One of the projectiles has fallen into the head of a deputy and has suffered a stroke. The altercation occurs after weeks of protests by the fall of a marquee of a station for which 15 people died.

At least Three people have been injured This Tuesday in the Serbian Parliament after opposition deputies launched flares and smoke boats during a chaotic session in which the resignation of the prime minister was confirmed, Milos Vucevic, and new laws were discussed to calm the protests of these months.

Some opposition deputies have tried to physically face the president of Parliament, Ana Brnabic, who have thrown water, while government ministers have been attacked with different objects. The security of the enclosure has avoided major evils, the Serbian newspaper ‘Politika’ has reported.

Among the injured is the deputy Jasmina Obradovicof the official Serbio Progressive Party, who has suffered seriously injuries during chaos after receiving, supposedly, the impact of a stunned bomb, Brnic has told.

President Aleksandar Vucic has visited Obradovic at the hospital and has expressed his confidence that he will recover despite the serious injuries. “I believe in its strength. Jasmina will win, Serbia will win,” he has written on his social networks.

“Serbia has risen to fall the regime”read in a banner displayed by opposition deputies during the session, alluding to the marches against the Government and President Vucic, triggered after the collapse of a roof of the train station in the city of Novi Sad, which left fifteen dead.

At the gates of Parliament there are new concentrations, after several months of marches headed by students and opposition groups, to which the Government has tried to appease with the approval of new laws or the resignation of high positions, such as Vucevic, or Minister Construction and Transportation, Goran Vesic.
