The Government of the Falkland Islands has announced the official suspension of the search for the four missing crew members of the fishing vessel ‘Argos Georgia‘, which sank on Monday of last week. Despite the intense recovery effortsthe missing persons have not been located, which raises to four the number of Spaniards confirmed as deceased.
In a statement, the Falkland Islands authorities reported that the decision to end the search was taken “after considering all the circumstances and in accordance with international requirements.” The MV Pharos SG, which actively participated in the operation, traveled more than 11,000 miles without finding any sign of the missing crew members. Despite the suspension, the authorities are asked to Vessels in the area to remain alert any sign of missing persons or wreckage.

The Government of the Falkland Islands has expressed its gratitude to all those who participated in the search operation and has underlined the difficulty and pain that this effort has entailed.
