Thousands of American firefighters They are working to extinguish a forest fire fast growing in the Northern California after the fire more than doubled in size within 24 hours.

The fire, known as ‘Park’, has burned more than 350,000 acres (141,640 hectares) within about 90 miles (144 kilometers) north of the state capital of Sacramento through Saturday, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or CalFire.

Cooler temperatures and more humid air are expected in the region, which could help efforts to slow the spread of the fire, which remains uncontained. The fire has destroyed 134 structures in two days which has been active, authorities have confirmed.

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday declared a state of emergency for Butte and Tehama counties, issuing new evacuation orders and warnings.

Meanwhile, A man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of starting the park fire by pushing a burning car into a ravine on Wednesday afternoon.
