Trump launches ad attack on Kamala Harris after Biden resigns

Former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump (2017-2021) launched an advertising attack against the vice president this Sunday, Kamala Harrisa potential new Democratic candidate for the US presidential election after the president’s refusal to seek re-election, Joe Biden.

Trump’s campaign released an ad accusing Harris of “covering up Biden’s obvious mental decline” — with footage showing him stumbling — and doing his job for him, blaming him for the immigrant “invasion,” rising inflation and the “death of the American dream.”

The 30-second video, funded by one of Trump’s main support groups, MAGA Inc, was shared on social media and, according to CNN, will be broadcast on television in the key states of Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania.

Trump sees Harris’ candidacy as possible

This is the first recognition by the Republican candidate of the possibility of facing Harris on November 5, whom Biden supported after abandoning the re-election race and for whom several leaders of the Democratic Party have already expressed their support.

The Biden-Harris campaign has so far sent out text messages to supporters announcing Harris is running for president and has updated its donation page, which now reads “donate to elect Kamala Harris” and “your contribution will benefit Kamala Harris.”

US Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday thanked President Joe Biden for his support in her role as his replacement in the race for the White House and confirmed that she wants to be chosen by the Democratic Party to face Republican Donald Trump in November.

“I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and intend to win this nomination,” she said in a letter published an hour after Biden announced he was withdrawing from the race and asked for support for Harris.

The vice president said she will do everything in her power “to unite the Democratic Party” and the nation to “defeat Donald Trump.” “We have 107 days until Election Day. Together we will fight. And together we will win,” she said.
