Military will ensure that Venezuelans vote “freely and peacefully” in presidential elections

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) of Venezuela He assured this Friday that he will safeguard security during the presidential elections on July 28, so that citizens can vote “freely and in peace.”

“The FANB will ensure that popular sovereignty is expressed freely and peacefully on July 28, so that our democratic, participatory and leading system continues to grow stronger and stronger,” Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino said in a message posted on X.

Through a video, he said that in the military institution they are “We are very happy because there is a nice and enthusiastic electoral atmosphere in the country”with six days left until the end of the campaign.

The Armed Forces will accompany the voting, “guaranteeing order, the security of the voters who leave their homes to each of the centers in peace (…) with all the emotional strength of their soul to express their thoughts, to define the destiny of the country in the coming years,” added Godfather.

These statements come after the candidate for reelection, Nicolás Maduro, denounced – without showing evidence – alleged plans by the opposition to generate violence in the framework of the elections, in which Venezuelans, he believes, will choose between “peace or war”.

In recent days, the military has deployed the material that will be used in the elections throughout the country, in which 10 candidates are competing, including Edmundo González Urrutia, the candidate for the majority opposition, who leads the voting intention, according to traditional pollsters.
