The former Republican president of the United States Donald Trump attacked this Thursday, during the electoral debateagainst the expense of military aid for Ukraine and the current president, Joe Bidenaccused him of wanting to leave NATO.
During the turn dedicated to foreign policy, Trump said that he does not support Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to end the war in Ukraine, which involves the annexation of the regions occupied by Russian forces.
But he did not detail his plan to face that war if he returned to the White House and assured that the Russian invasion would never have happened if he had been president, an evasion that he also used to talk about the conflict in Gaza.
The Republican said the United States has spent “too much” money arming the Ukrainian army because of this war, he called the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, a “great businessman” for all the resources he has obtained from the United States and criticized Biden because, in his opinion, he has not done enough for the European NATO countries to provide more support.

The Democrat claimed that he has managed to get 50 countries in the world to form a coalition to support Ukraine because the Russian invasion is “a threat to the whole world”.
Biden said Putin is “a war criminal” that has killed thousands of people, that wants to reestablish the Soviet Union and that will seek to invade new territories after Ukraine.
The current president has pledged to defend Ukraine from Russian invasion by sending more than $60 billion worth of weapons and aid, has imposed several batteries of sanctions against Russia and has strengthened relations with the rest of NATO countries.
Hardline Republicans in Congress have been blocking arms shipments for months, and Trump suggested at a rally that he would invite Russia to do whatever it wanted with NATO countries that do not provide enough resources to the alliance.
