The Police of the city of Atlanta, in the United States, have reported the death of a person shot after an armed man hijacked a bus with 17 people on board, including the driver, and which has led to a persecution across two counties.
Officers detained the suspect, identified as Joseph Grier, 39, after chase the vehicle in a journey that has included three different jurisdictions in Gwinnett and DeKalb counties, which is equivalent to about 32 kilometers, according to the American television network ‘NBC News’.
The deceased has not yet been identified and the circumstances under which it occurred have not yet been clarified. The Police have confirmed that there are no more injuries among the passengers of the bus, which fled after the assailant threatened the driver.
For his part, the city’s mayor, Andre Dickens, has praised the agents for their action in a situation that “could have been worse”, and has assured that the event “looks like something out of a movie.”
