The Israeli Army announced this Monday the death of four Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip. Israeli authorities have reported that Their bodies are being held by Hamas and have not yet been recovered.

The names of the deceased are Chaim Peri (80 years old), Yoram Metzger (80 years old), Amiram Cooper (85 years old) and Nadav Popplewell (51 years old), who were kidnapped during the Hamas attack against Israel on October 7.

The main Israeli military spokesman, Daniel Hagari, confirmed the news in a press conference in which he said that The four died “a few months ago” in the town of Khan Yunisin the south of the enclave, without offering more details.

In a statement, the army has said that the circumstances of his death are being examinedand that has managed to confirm his death based on “intelligence.”

Kibbutz Nirim, where Popplewell lived, had announced his death shortly before, as had Kibbutz Nir Oz those of Peri, Metzger and Cooper, who was one of its founders.

The platform representing Israeli hostages in Gaza has regretted the news, saying that “the Israeli government should send a negotiating delegation tonight and return the remaining 124 hostages to their homes, dead or alive.”
